In the Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar, continuous heavy rainfall has severely disrupted public life. Due to the ongoing rainfall, waterlogging has occurred in various areas, and there is a fear of landslides among the residents of hilly regions.

Local sources report that the roads and courtyards of houses in the low-lying areas of the upazila have become waterlogged due to the rain that has been ongoing for several days. This has caused difficulties in the movement of ordinary people, business activities, and daily routines. In many places, unpaved roads have become slippery with mud, hindering the movement of vehicles.

In particular, families living on the slopes and foothills of the mountains have been urged by the local administration to remain vigilant. It is feared that landslides could occur at any time due to the heavy rainfall. Residents in risky areas have also been advised to move to safer locations.

Meanwhile, due to the adverse weather conditions, fishermen, farmers, and day labourers are facing the most difficulties. They have been urged to avoid going outside unnecessarily and to follow the latest weather advisories.

Locals have demanded the swift resolution of waterlogging issues and the strengthening of necessary safety measures in risky areas.
